The VECTED Thermal Reflex Sight – TRS – is designed to address some of the limitations of conventional reflex sights in challenging operational contexts. Reflex sights are widely used by police and military forces to support fast and accurate aiming. However, detecting individuals can become difficult when camouflage, low visibility, dense vegetation or damaged terrain are factors.
Thermal imaging has long been used to support identification in such conditions, and VECTED, a German company specialising in thermal imaging devices for rifles and machine guns, has combined the two technologies within a single system. The TRS allows users to employ a standard reflex sight while adding a thermal overlay when required.
The device includes several overlay options, a large display for improved situational awareness, and is compatible with night vision equipment and magnifiers. These features are intended to provide flexibility in a range of situations where police officers or military personnel require reliable visual support.
A specific feature of the TRS is its parallax adjustment, which enables the thermal image and the optical sight to be aligned accurately. This function is designed to support precision in close-range operations, including urban or confined settings. The thermal overlay can be activated either by pressing a button or by opening the lens cover, allowing users to adapt quickly when moving between different lighting conditions.
Through the TRS, VECTED has expanded its portfolio of optical devices by combining thermal and reflex sight capabilities. The system is positioned as a tool to help operators maintain situational awareness and respond effectively in a variety of operational environments. Visitors can discover the TRS and VECTED’s wider portfolio of solutions this November at Milipol Paris.
