A Trusted Partner in Defence and Humanitarian Operations
UTILIS, a leading designer and manufacturer of deployable field infrastructures, has long been recognised for its ability to deliver robust, mobile and quickly deployable shelters for military, civil security, health and humanitarian applications. Based on more than two decades of operational expertise, the company’s solutions are designed to meet the diverse needs of armed forces and emergency response organisations worldwide. Its products range from tactical tents and semi-permanent structures to fully equipped modular camps.
One of the company’s innovations, the ELYTRON, embodies this expertise. Conceived as a deployable and multi-purpose all-terrain container, ELYTRON offers an adaptable platform that can be configured for various uses, from command posts and logistics centres to medical units and decontamination systems. Its modular structure unfolds to create more than 40 square metres of operational space in under 30 minutes, with only two operators required and no need for external power tools. Designed to perform in temperatures ranging from –32°C to +70°C, it can be deployed both on the ground and on transport vehicles, ensuring true off-road capability in challenging conditions.
Field-tested Innovation Recognised by the French Military
The ELYTRON has undergone extensive field testing in collaboration with several prestigious units of the French Armed Forces. The concept was initially developed with the Army Health Service (Service de Santé des Armées), whose operational requirements played a key role in shaping its design. Further trials conducted by the 2nd Dragoon Regiment, the 121st Transport Regiment and the Logistics Brigade of Montlhéry confirmed the system’s performance across varied terrains and missions.
These tests validated the ELYTRON’s capacity to enhance tactical mobility and rapid responsiveness in the field, aligning perfectly with the French Armed Forces’ objectives to increase flexibility and speed of deployment. By allowing operational units to manoeuvre efficiently and adapt to evolving conditions, the system contributes directly to mission success and troop safety.
The Ministry of the Armed Forces has now officially awarded the ELYTRON™ the “Used by the French Armed Forces” (UAF) label. This distinction certifies that the equipment is actively in service within French military operations and meets stringent operational and technical standards.
For UTILIS, this label is both a mark of trust and a validation of its long-standing commitment to innovation, reliability and operational excellence. It reinforces the company’s position as a world leader in deployable infrastructure solutions and confirms its role as a strategic partner to defence, civil security and humanitarian organisations worldwide. UTILIS will be showcasing its innovations this year at Milipol Paris, from 18 to 21 November.
