This year at Milipol Paris 2025, being held from 18 to 21 November, CODEX-TIR will unveil a major new development: the Modul-Tir, the first fully modular shooting range designed and manufactured in France. Drawing on its team’s long-standing experience in ballistic infrastructure, the company has created a solution that reimagines how training environments are built, deployed and maintained.

The Modul-Tir concept offers a flexible, rapid-deployment system that meets the evolving needs of defence and security professionals. Its modular architecture allows easy transport, quick installation, and efficient adaptation to both indoor and outdoor environments. For users, that means a faster setup time, lower investment costs and the ability to expand or reconfigure ranges as operational needs change, all while maintaining strict ballistic compliance.

Beyond its technical ingenuity, the Modul-Tir reflects CODEX-TIR’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and resource efficiency. Many of its components are produced from recycled or recyclable materials, such as industrial rubber granules and high-resistance natural latex. This eco-responsible approach runs through the company’s entire production line, ensuring that each innovation aligns with environmental goals as well as performance demands.

A Legacy of Precision and Innovation

Based in Tonneins, in southwest France, CODEX-TIR has established itself as a trusted specialist in the design and construction of shooting-range infrastructure. Founded in 2016 by professionals with decades of industry experience, the company delivers fully integrated, made-in-France systems to clients including the French armed forces, national police, customs agencies, and private operators in France, overseas territories and abroad.

With its own design office and manufacturing workshop, CODEX-TIR develops key components in-house. Its signature bullet traps, the LAMITRAP, built with suspended steel lamellae, and the GUMITRAP, made from recycled rubber granules, are engineered for optimal safety, durability and ease of maintenance. The company also coordinates with a network of specialist partners to deliver turnkey installations that meet the highest operational and environmental standards.

Beyond ballistic protection, CODEX-TIR prioritises acoustic performance and user comfort. The company integrates FIBRALITH and Organic acoustic panels, composed of mineralised wood wool and rock wool, which offer excellent sound absorption and fire resistance. These systems dramatically reduce the reverberation and noise levels typical of indoor shooting ranges, improving both safety and working conditions.

CODEX-TIR’s ballistic walls and deflectors, built with reinforced steel plates and anti-ricochet tiles, protect surrounding structures from stray rounds while dampening noise. A notable example is the installation at the École Nationale d’Application de la Police Nationale in Toulouse, where Hardox 500HB 8 mm steel plates and red “TIR sol 43” anti-ricochet panels showcase the company’s blend of precision engineering and functional design.

Craftsmanship, Compliance and Commitment

Every CODEX-TIR product, from ballistic floors to soundproofing systems, is built to rigorous European standards. The company’s CE-certified FIBRALITH panels, compliant with NF EN 13168, underline its dedication to quality assurance, traceability and long-term reliability.

What sets CODEX-TIR apart is its holistic vision of innovation: one rooted in the real-world needs of users across the defence and security sectors. Its ongoing investment in research and development ensures that every solution delivers enhanced safety, acoustic comfort and environmental responsibility.

As it continues to expand its footprint in France and internationally, CODEX-TIR remains true to its founding principles, combining French craftsmanship, technological rigour and a forward-looking approach to sustainability. With the launch of the Modul-Tir, the company reinforces its position as a driving force in the evolution of ballistic training infrastructure.

Visitors to Milipol Paris 2025 will be able to learn more about the Modul-Tir and CODEX-TIR’s other shooting range solutions at Stand 5 K 167, where representatives will demonstrate the system’s features and explain its potential applications within training facilities.
