STREAMWIDE, a Paris-based provider of secure communication platforms, has been chosen by AT&T to power its new mission-critical application for FirstNet, the dedicated broadband network for America’s first responders. The collaboration marks a significant milestone for the company, reinforcing its global position in mission-critical communications and paving the way for enhanced cooperation between telecom technology and public safety sectors.
A New Step in Public Safety Communications
FirstNet, built with and for first responders, currently supports over 30,000 public safety agencies and organisations across the United States. The partnership introduces next-generation capabilities for mission-critical services (MCX), in full compliance with 3GPP standards, encompassing push-to-talk, video, data, and command and dispatch features.
STREAMWIDE’s technology, already deployed across Europe and other continents, provides AT&T with field-proven infrastructure designed to operate in the most demanding environments. The integration of STREAMWIDE’s mission-critical solutions into the FirstNet ecosystem will enable first responders, including police, fire and emergency medical services, to access robust, reliable, and secure communication tools underpinned by advanced 4G and 5G networks.
Key benefits include seamless interoperability between next-generation broadband users and traditional land mobile radio systems (LMR), thanks to InterWorking Function (IWF) technology. This allows for continuous communication between users of both systems, marking the world’s first large-scale IWF deployment compliant with 3GPP standards. The technology also ensures a smooth transition from legacy systems such as P25 to advanced cellular platforms, while maintaining reliability and redundancy across multiple geo-redundant platforms in the United States.
A Trusted Partner for Mission-critical Operations
Pascal Beglin, CEO of STREAMWIDE, said the collaboration represents a major step for the company: “Being selected by AT&T to deliver mission-critical services for such a large-scale public safety project is a tremendous recognition of our expertise. With more than 30,000 agencies connected to FirstNet, this deployment serves as a global reference point for innovation, resilience, and security at scale.”
Beglin emphasised that the partnership illustrates the maturity of STREAMWIDE’s technology and its capacity to support agencies transitioning from legacy systems to modern 4G and 5G platforms while ensuring interoperability and operational efficiency.
Matt Walsh, AVP Product, FirstNet and Next Generation 9-1-1 at AT&T, added: “As public safety’s partner, we are always looking for the best collaborators to innovate for first responders. STREAMWIDE’s proven record will help us give America’s public safety community the flexibility to adapt to whatever emergency they might face.”
Together, AT&T and STREAMWIDE aim to strengthen the resilience and responsiveness of critical communication infrastructures worldwide. The collaboration demonstrates how telecom innovation can be channelled to meet the operational realities of those working daily to protect lives and manage emergencies.
A Growing Global Footprint
STREAMWIDE’s selection by AT&T underscores the company’s growing international reputation in the mission-critical communications field. Founded in Paris, STREAMWIDE has become a recognised global leader in secure communications for public safety, defence, energy, transport, and industry sectors. Its technology enables organisations to collaborate more efficiently, respond faster, and maintain security even in complex and high-risk environments.
AT&T, one of the world’s largest telecommunications companies, connects over 100 million individuals and 2.5 million businesses across the United States. The company’s commitment to innovation, dating back more than 140 years to the invention of the telephone, continues with its focus on 5G and high-speed connectivity to improve the way people live and work.
By combining AT&T’s scale and infrastructure with STREAMWIDE’s mission-critical expertise, this partnership highlights how innovation can enhance the operational readiness of public safety agencies worldwide.
STREAMWIDE at Milipol Paris 2025
Following this major U.S. milestone, STREAMWIDE will present its solution, Team on Mission, at Milipol Paris 2025, the world’s leading event for homeland security and safety professionals.
Team on Mission is an all-in-one platform designed for demanding public safety environments. Built with robustness and resilience at its core, it ensures uninterrupted communication even under the most hazardous or remote conditions. The solution provides users in the field with all the tools they need, real-time data, voice, video, localisation services, and mission-specific processes, within a single unified interface.
Its design allows for a seamless transition from traditional professional mobile radio (PMR) systems to Mission Critical Push-to-Talk (MCPTT) over 4G and 5G LTE networks. With advanced security and redundancy features, Team on Mission guarantees the smooth and secure flow of information across every level of command, supporting operational coordination and situational awareness in real time.
STREAMWIDE’s participation at Milipol Paris will enable professionals from around the world to experience how the company’s solutions meet the evolving communication needs of first responders, defence forces, and critical infrastructure operators.
